The trend in medical renewals has been to offer higher deductible options increasing the amount of out of pocket expenses incurred and paid for by employees. This trend does nothing to improve health benefits and in fact makes it more difficult for employees to afford claims. The HealthBridge solution allows companies and their employees to keep or regain the balance between benefits and dollars spent on healthcare.

How does HealthBridge Work?

Designed to harmonize with the employer’s current or new major medical plan, HealthBridge can combine three types of insurance together to span across any deductible gaps. HealthBridge pays benefits for out-of-pocket expenses, deductibles, and co-insurance. HealthBridge may be designed to even pay for additional benefits. HealthBridge is not a major medical carrier and may not cover 100% of an insured’s out-of-pocket expenses see "plan limitations".

What is the HealthBridge?

The HealthBridge is an employer sponsored group supplemental insurance plan which is designed to help reduce the cost of group medical coverage. Combining HealthBridge with certain major medical plans can deliver coverage groups want and can afford.

What coverage does HealthBridge provide?

Supplemental Deductible and Co-Insurance
HealthBridge plans have a supplemental deductible and co-insurance per insured person that must be satisfied before benefits are paid. After the insured’s selected HealthBridge deductible has been satisfied the Bridge plan pays the benefits described in the policy until the payments reach the Maximum Benefit Amount, typically satisfying the major medical deductible.

Benefits for Hospital and Outpatient Expenses
Our most frequently selected Bridge plan pays the amount applied to your major medical deductible, co-insurance, and co-payments. It covers the same expenses as your major medical plan, with the exception of charges for professional fees in a doctor’s office /  medical clinic or for outpatient prescription drugs.

What HealthBridge Plan designs are available?

Each group can choose the plan design and benefit amount to achieve the maximum overall premium savings for their group. HealthBridge is extremely flexible; benefits can be added to increase coverage of selected illnesses or accidents.

Are there any participation requirements or waiting periods?

Everyone (employees and dependents) enrolled on the group’s major medical plan must be enrolled with HealthBridge. On the HealthBridge effective date, everyone covered by the group’s major medical plan will be covered by HealthBridge. Coverage available to groups of two or more.
